This was a bug in older versions loaded into the root ...

    You can try this ...

    Rename the file:
    /admin/developers_tool_kit.php

    to read:
    /admin/developers_tool_kit.php_HIDE

    Load from v1.3.6 the file:
    /admin/developers_tool_kit.php

Will it run for you without error?

Note: you may need the language file ... I forget off the top of my head if I added additional functions for this or just tightened up the code ...

Idea or Suggestion Re: Error occurred when searching using Developers Tool Kit

    Hi Ajeh,

Thanks for your reply. I am using zencart 1.2.7. You said this was a bug in older version loaded into the root. How could this happened considering that I was still able to use the Developers Tool Kit until last week. It just suddenly stopped working. I didn't mess with any coding...

Could this be the file permission thing which my host stuffed up? Please advise. Thanks.

    Regards,
    Ethan

Did you recently install Front Page or something on your server that uses php files beyond Zen Cart?

Developer's Tool Kit has to do a scan of the files to check them and if the file permissions are not correct, then this cannot happen ...

In sites off the root with the old version, this can happen because of other programs in your root ...

NOTE: if you did not add anything new since this last worked ... as a precaution you best be searching around for directories and php files that do not belong on your server that were recently added/created ... as a precaution ...

red flag Re: Error occurred when searching using Developers Tool Kit

    Hi Ajeh,

Sorry for the delayed response. I just found out that I have always had FrontPage extensions installed right from the beginning. I didn't install it recently. What I don't understand is that I didn't have this problem until now. My friend told me to uninstall FrontPage extensions but I saw this the following warning:
"Uninstalling FrontPage Extensions will result in the loss of all .htaccess files in your web area. Any directories you have protected with WebProtect will become unprotected until you reprotect them."

I am worried that once I delete it I might have more problems with my cart. What do you think I should do? Please let me know. Thank you.

    Best regards,
    Ethan

Don't delete it ... as it does make a mess of the .htaccess files ...

You can try putting the current version of
    /admin/developers_tool_kit.php

In by just renaming the existing file:
    /admin/developers_tool_kit.php_HIDE

and loading the file from a clean download of Zen Cart v1.3.6 just to see if this fixes this issue for you ...

Otherwise, I'd have to see the site to tell what may have changed to cause this problem ...

Note: you can also do searches on your PC with windows search on php files ... it just isn't as handy ...
