required attribute not working 1.3.6

Dear Zenners,

I am trying to set some attributes to required but the system keeps
allowing empty posts somehow.

- with products it is required to upload an image

I have it on Required in the attr. manager... but maybe i am missing something?

I may be missing something as well but I have some Attributes set as Text. I have it as required. However the customer can leave it blank and can check out with the product.

I am running 1.3.6. Any ideas?

Do you have an URL to a Product that you are having trouble with so we can see how it is configured?

Here is a product that has text attributes. I have them set as required but you can leave them blank and still add them to the cart.

Here is the Year attribute for that product in admin:

Option Name: Year
Option Value: TEXT
Prefix Price: + 0.0000
Prefix Weight + 0
Order: 0
Display Only: Off
Free: On
Default: Off

Try changing to Classic template ... does it work?

If so, it sounds like the add-on you are using is not following the rules for the field ...

I changed it to classic and I still was able to check out the product without filling in the text.

I have not used that tabbed products _info to know if this is affecting your information or not ...

As we do not have this issue in v1.3.6 ... I would have to say it is related to that add-on ...

Perhaps someone else using it could test a required TEXT attribute and see what issues exist ... if any ...

I'm using the Gloss_Blue template and also having same problem of required attributes not working and allowing customer to still checkout.

Ideas???

Sorry just getting back on this topic. First off just a quick THANK YOU for all you do with Zencart. OK here is an example URL http://outdoorsinteriors.com/index.p...roducts_id=193

For example I have the attribute "Color" with 2 selections (black/rust)available and on the first selection black in attributes I choose "required" and on the other color rust it is not required. When I actually go to the product and not select either option I'm still able to check out. Is the reason its not working because both selections need to be required?

I temporarily am getting around this by forcing the black color choice as default. Hopefully this all makes sense.
