Can someone point us in the right direction please?

We're currently running a live install of zen-cart and are moving to a new server.

Here's what we're trying to do, and since we're really new, we could redo the whole installation for the new server if need be.

We are a leisure/sports/recreation funding program offering funds (obviously) to programs to purchase equipment for people with disabilities they otherwise wouldn't be able to afford. We obtained the specialty bikes for the 2005 Soldier Ride supporting Wounded Warrior project as well as ensuring the local Special Olympics athletes are properly fitted for their gear and if not, we arrange for their gear to be fitted/replaced.

We do this through the sale of an affiliate savings card with discounts on all sorts of products.

Our site sells ONLY our branded products - which we've currently got set as product-general.

We've got the items on the card set to display as document-general.

I've been reading about using Zen-Cart as a CMS which we'd love to do since we really hope to grow and this would make it very easy however, I cant seem to figure out the best plan to implement this.

We'd like to be able to LIST (without the option to purchase) the products and services we've arranged special offers on - with the product listing having the original price and the special offers price in the description - but without being able to purchase - but still be able to review them and still be able to notify a friend.

We'd like to be able to LIST the ATHLETES, PROGRAMS, GROUPS, TEAMS and FACILITIES we fund with the program along with links to their homepages.. AND have that list display on all the pages.

We'd also like to be able to set up the products more like our photo page which is at www.blastmt.com/photos.html.

You should not have to re-do any of the installs that you currently have. It can be relocated intact assuming that all of it is on the same account now and if not with a bit more effort.

What you refer to as "LIST (without the option to purchase)", I think is the Showcase mode for ZenCart. and is a setting in the admin.

Depending on how much content you envision, ZenCart and ezpages can provide for quite a bit of content or CMS functionality.

Re-arranging the products page as you want will reauire a bit of custom coding but is completely possible, either by one of you or another hired to perform this.

Thanks for the replies. Zen cart is fully operational on the new server with no glitches at all.. we were just hoping to be able to do more.

We know about the showcase mode but it's not the right route for us because we actually have some products to sell, which is why we've got the special offers set up in the document-general and the actual products set up as product-general as mentioned in another thread here.

We were hoping to be able to do what was mentioned.. which is list the programs, athletes and others from inside the cart instead of outside like we already are and to have the actual special offers displayed in almost the same way we already have our athlete photos set up.
