    Default Live Help and SSL

    Hi,

I created a sidebox that contains a java script for my live help connection. But since I added SSL to my site this feature shows up as being unsecure. Is there a way to make this secure?

You can see it at https://www.abcjewelrydepot.com

    Thanks

    Jason

Most do not run their carts as secure. Zencart can and will switch to secure automatically for login and when sensitive information i.e. Credit Card information is to be entered. This is automatic when settings in the configure.php are set correctly.

Is there a reason that you wish all shopping functions to be in secure mode?

Looking, this is how your install is functioning...just enter as http://abcjewelrydepot.com/
No htpps:// and see if the live support still reports as stated...

    Hi kobra,

I was just using the link to the home page as an example. THe problem occurs when the customer wants to make a purchase and proceeds to checkout. Since the live help sidebox appears on all pages it appears when zen cart switches over to secure mode and thats when the message appears. I know when I am shopping online, if I receive that message I get a heart palpitation lol. SO I would imagine it wouldnt be good for other customers either.

Ah Ha, better description of when and where this is happening....

I would look at the live help module and see if there is support for it to be secure and what you must do to enable this.

In your LiveHelp admin under "departments" where it says Generate HTML it will ask whether your site uses SSL just check yes and then generate your script.

That should stop the "unsecure" message.

    Kobra and Clyde,

Thanks guys, I visited my live help providers site and did indeed find I could generate SSL safe code. But I would not have thought of this had you not suggested it. Thanks again!
