zc_install keeps wanting to run

Upgrading from 1.3.5 to 1.3.6
Managed to lose and restore my database (didn't copy over the config files, I think and didn't have the option to upgrade so installed instead).

I've now copied across my config.php files from the backup and checked that they look OK and they seem to be correct. When I type in the site's URL all I get is zc_install wanting to run again and insisting that I dont have the option to upgrade. Actually I think I've done all I need and now want to get on with the upgrade.

Can anyone suggest what I've missed?

Check the following on the assumption you are upgrading a copy of your Live Site and not being silly any trying to upgrade your actual Live Site ...

1 you have a new database and user name for the copy of your Live site that you are upgrading

2 you have placed the correct configure.php files in:
/new_shop/includes/configure.php
/new_shop/admin/includes/configure.php

3 you have edited these 2 configure.php files to reflect both the new database name, username, password and the path for the /new_shop

4 that you are running the
/new_shop/zc_install

Well ... actually I'm just trying to run the site on the basis that I've done the install ... so www.mysite.co.uk/new_shop keeps running zc_install rather than the normal index.php and on into the shop - but in the zc_install that appears I don't have the opportunity to upgrade. Is this suggesting that I don't have the correct data in the config files?

That makes me think there is an incorrect path in the configure.php and when it looks for the configure.php it does not find a completed one ... or that the configure.php files are not there or corrupt ...

Ah ha! I changed the name of zc_install and got a "problem connecting to database" error screen. So I went back and checked the database name and password ..... I'd used the wrong cat's name when I edited the config files so the database connection couldn't be made. I edited file and put in the correct password for the database user and all is well.

I'm back on track again now - thanks for the pointers
