[NOT A BUG] Product price displays wrong

I have just install a fresh, unmodified v1.3.6 to checkout the new features of this version - I ran straight into a product pricing problem. The only thing I havechanged is the Florida tax of 7% to Australian 10% GST - no shipping setup yet either.

After creating a catagory, I then proceeded to added a $20(net) item, which auto calculated the tax included price to $22.00 on the product creation page. When I hit the preview button, the price is displayed as $26.19 - on previous versions the price displayed on the preview page is $20.00 net. I then previewed the product as customers would see it - $26.19.

I then removed the GST tax from the product and got the same results as above.

Is this a bug or is there some new feature I need to turn off??

If you are referring to the Net/Gross when adding Products, this is happening because of multiple tax rates ...

We are aware of this issue and will be work on it for a future release ...

For now ... close one eye when doing products ...

Hi Ajeh,

Even if I delete all tax zones and rates, I still get this happening. As i mentioned in my original post,

- the product creation page shows $20.00 - no tax or zones setup.(Florida removed)
- the product preview page shows $26.19
- customer accessed product page shows $26.19

I'm using WOS Portable by CH Software.
Apache 2.2.0
PHP 5.1.2
MySql 5.0.18

I have the option of switching PHP version to v4.4.2 which I have done, but still thew same result.

Can you please explain all the exact steps to reproduce this?
Are you starting from a fresh v1.3.6 install downloaded from our main site?
Then what exactly are you doing to get to this state?
ie: which settings are you adjusting in the admin before entering products, etc?

All my prices were displaying at 31% above my entered price. I have managed to resolve this problem. - I had to update the currencies.

During a fresh installation of zencart v1.3.6, you enter a lot of information, and set variables such as store location, currency etc. I live in Australia and set the currency to Australian Dollars during setup.

This changes the default shop currency to Australian Dollars. When this happens, it uses the default AU value 1.30970001, which is the exchange rate against the US dollar when the Zencart package was created.

Resetting the AU to $1.00 and updating the currency rates, my prices now show correctly.

Hope this helps other International users.

Thanks, I had the same problem.

Maybe the default for all currencies should be set to 1.0 on a fresh install...

I agree. Or perhaps during installation you should be prompted for currency values?
