How to Display Products Sorted by Data Added

Maybe I am just dumb or something, but I couldn't figure out how to sort products by date they were added?

Note that I disable displaying date to customer-end. In other words, customers cannot see when a product is added. However, in the MySQL database, all values in the Date column are properly entered.



Under Configuration - ALL Listings - Display Product Display - Default Sort Order
1= Products Name
2= Products Name Desc
3= Price low to high, Products Name
4= Price high to low, Products Name
5= Model
6= Date Added desc
7= Date Added
8= Product Sort Order

I put in 6, didn't work. 6a didn't work, either.



Under Configuration - Product Listings
Display Product Listing Default Sort Order
doesn't work, either

One of those two should be the order that you want ...

Normally how do you sort products by date added and display them to customers?
where and which option do you use?

To sort the All Products listing by date you edit the:
Configuration ... All Listing ...

and select the radiobutton for 6 Date Added Descending

I'm having the exact same problem. I'm also using 1.3.6.

The Product Listing does not have a products_date_added sort to it ...

Only the fields in the listing can be used for the Sort Order ...

You would have to customize quite a bit of code to add the date ...

Note: the New Products, Featured Products and All Products do have a sort by date and the ability to default the sort order to that ...

Can you clarify for me when we see Product Listing versus All Listings? I have a client who wants to sort the manufacturer's product listings by date added, descending and says it was that way before we upgraded her from 1.3.1 to 1.3.7.
