I'm looking into carts and certainly like features and enthusiastic user base for Zen Cart! I need to address two issues though concerning wholesale vs public retail customers:
1) Can I retain products and quantities (perhaps with a persistent cookie) for reoccurring customers so that wholesale clients can have their previous orders already input for purchase?
2) I also need two prices for each product relating to public retail and select wholesale customers.
What is the easiest method for accomplishing this?
I imagine that I can create two separate carts with a retail store at the root domain (www.myshop.com) and perhaps a subdomain or just a sub folder from the root cart for the wholesale site (wholesale.myshop.com or www.myshop.com/wholesale).
However, I would essentially double my work as I'd have to submit one product twice to both stores (and potentially create a management nightmare of products out of sync, etc.).
Is there a way to designate two prices for a single product in a single cart AND then have only one or the other prices show depending on whether the client logs in as a retail customer or a wholesale customer?
How would I allocate wholesale user accounts that would connect to the wholesale prices?
