Default Wholesale and Public Retail Customer Shops with Different Prices

I'm looking into carts and certainly like features and enthusiastic user base for Zen Cart! I need to address two issues though concerning wholesale vs public retail customers:

    1) Can I retain products and quantities (perhaps with a persistent cookie) for reoccurring customers so that wholesale clients can have their previous orders already input for purchase?

    2) I also need two prices for each product relating to public retail and select wholesale customers.

What is the easiest method for accomplishing this?

I imagine that I can create two separate carts with a retail store at the root domain (www.myshop.com) and perhaps a subdomain or just a sub folder from the root cart for the wholesale site (wholesale.myshop.com or www.myshop.com/wholesale).

However, I would essentially double my work as I'd have to submit one product twice to both stores (and potentially create a management nightmare of products out of sync, etc.).

Is there a way to designate two prices for a single product in a single cart AND then have only one or the other prices show depending on whether the client logs in as a retail customer or a wholesale customer?

How would I allocate wholesale user accounts that would connect to the wholesale prices?

I am somewhat new to all the features of Zen Cart, however I believe there is a group pricing option which would allow you to place certain customers into a group that you would designate for wholesale prices. Haven't tried it out but think that is what it is used for. Somebody with more knowledge will be able to answer that question a bit better than I did. One nice thing about Zen Cart (ZC) is everybody here is more than happy to help each other out with questions/answers, so getting a more in-depth reply shouldn't take too long. :)

Yes, the group pricing feature allows you to include chosen customers into that group and set a discount percentage for them.

What I would like to know though is, can I set a minimum quantity for a pricing group. EG: I sell beading supplies and handcrafted jewellery. I have set up a group for customers that purchase my jewellery to sell in their store or market stall. But, I want to set a minimum purchase amount for that group also. Is this posible? And can I limit this group to be able to purchase from only one category?

    Thank you.
