Minimum quantity per category

I am trying to set up a minimum amount to purchase in a specific category.

These needles are DongBangs, I would like the customer to buy no less than 10 boxes of this brand, however there are 14 different sizes to choose from. I do not want to limit them to a 10 box minimum per size (product) just a minimum on the brand itself. Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Instead of having each size as an individual product, you should use the attributes system for the size. You can set a minimum that way.

I have not set up or used an attribute system yet, so I have some reading to do. My biggest concern is that my customers would still be able to select 10 different sizes( if they choose), to meet the 10 box minimum requirement. Thank you for your reply.

The attribute system doesn't allow for this situation. I need the option of selecting from 14 different sizes (by product or attribute), to make up a minimum of 10 items in that category. For example, The minimum number of boxes per order is 10, for the DongBang acupuncture needles. However, I would like to offer the customer the ability to combine boxes from the 14 different sizes available to make up the 10 box minimum. like 3 boxes of 1 " + 2 boxes of 1.5" + 5 boxes of 2" = 10 boxes, same brand, various sizes. If anyone has any ideas of how I can do this please let me know.
