Basic Problems - need help with config

Hi, on me banner image when viewing in internet explorer i get a bad image url box thing on the top left. How can i get rid of this. It doesn't appear when using firebox but does when using ie and it's annoying.

Another thing, below the banner where it has these horizontally aligned. how do i change these to my own links eg. forum and change the font and colours of them?
