add a div for a stretching BG image ?

I want to add a div that will contain a BG image for my site. I Need to put it into a div so that it will stretch 100% of the width.

I have made an ID for it, I dont know which page to put it into so that it will call on the index page.

There are several easy methods for this and there is already a Div for the header as <div id="headerWrapper"> or the logo as <div id="logoWrapper"> and <div id="logo">
