    Default Two Questions, please help...

Ok, so my store is lame, but I try, can anyone answer the following questions:

My store can be found at http://www.donmattingly.com/store

If you click on signed items on the left it shows the categories on the left and in the center. Well, in the center they are text links and they are hard to notice. How can I set pictures up above each text link or at least make the links themselves large and add a space below the last ones?

Secondly, how can I add a drop down box to select a size, color, or style of an item in my store?

    I am running version 1.3.6.

    Thanks,
    Shannon

When you set up these sub-categories you have the option of including an image...Go back and add imnages to each as see if this makes it more like what you want
Secondly, how can I add a drop down box to select a size, color, or style of an item in my store
This is by adding attributes to your products
First a name like "size" and then add values to these names like small, medium...Lastly associate or add these attributes to the product

There are aids in the FAQ's and the wiki for attributes for more detail

Ok, can you answer this question then:

    Go to http://www.donmattingly.com/store/in...index&cPath=70

See how the category links in the center end right at the top of the New Products box? How can I add some spacing there?

Wow!! what version of Zen Cart are you using??? The style sheet is dated stylesheet.css 290 2004-09-15

If this is really a 2004 Version you should upgrade before you go any farther as there are many many security and style changes.

As this is the table based version I do not have an install and have not worked with these tables for some time and can not provide an answer for you. Maybe another that remembers this can assist.

I am afraid to upgrade right now. I did it in a way that my custom stuff is supposed to be in a separate directly than the standard. However, with it being December, and sales are up right, I cannot afford the store being down...

If someone can ensure me that upgrading will be smooth then I can do that. Any suggestions?

How do you know the date of the stylesheet? I looked at the page source (after rendering, of course) and don't see anything about a date for the stylesheet there.

FWIW, it always amazes me to see how much info folks can find out about the internal workings of a site to which there is no obvious entry. I think I need to learn more simply as a matter of self protection.

Okay, that helps! Now I see where you got the date. I'm going to have to look for some more toys now.

I typically use Firefox for development and have relied on viewing the source for info on the code but it doesn't help much with the stylesheets.

    Thanks again,
    Jim

    Jim,

You did find the "css" icon in the nav bar and the "edit css" selection I am hoping??

You can use this more or less interactively and when you got it like you want you can save the the file that you have created through edits, locally. Then FTP it to your host and you will be happy.
