Sort New Products & Currency Question

I'm hoping someone can help me, I'm about to go crazy if I can't figure this out.

I want to sort the "New Products" listed on the main page by product name. However, they are always sorted randomly. I've checked Index Settings and Layout Settings, but neither have had any effect. I can turn it on or off. I know there's a way to do this.

Secondly, I would like to display the selected currency next to the item amounts and Sub-Total if at all possible. Is there a way to do so?

You would need to re-write the code to sort that by name rather than randomly ...
