Deleted products are still showing at the store but admin ?

I have deleted the Categories which had some products in them. After deleting the Category, I could see that it's gone in admin but products in that category are still showing in the store.

It looks like db has not deleted.

Can you please help ? how do I delete them. Originally I wanted to disavle it (inactive) but that did not work either.

What version of Zen Cart are you running?

Is this a clean install or an upgrade? If an upgrade, from what version and how did you do the upgrade?

Are you sure your Catalog and Admin are both pointing to the same database in the:
/includes/configure.php
/admin/includes/configure.php

Note: do not post username and password info here ...

Do you use Linked Products?

Are you sure you deleted all references of the Product when you deleted the Categories?

As usual we as users not always do the right way around :-(

I did not want to loose my product listing from my previous version. So I backed up the db. deleted the whole site and re install new. Then I went and did a re INSERT into the tables of the product descriptions. Naturally I think all the product ID's screwed up with the new version. They did show all the products and the description but problems only showed when I wanted to delete them.

I understand that product is ALWAYS in development mode and given as users we DO change /customise so there is nothing we can do to eliminate totally some of the user stuff ups.

Its fine now.

Next upgrade, mention you are about to do one and we can all point out to you numerous threads on how to do this safety at home ...

Backups of both your site and your database are the key ... I know they save me more times than I care to admit ...
