How to set-up a category?

Hi there,

I would like to create custom categories. I can't seem to find where I create a new category? Under Catalog -> categories/products all I get is a button to make a new product and under product type I can only edit existing product types.

Categories hold Products or Categories ...

When a Category holds a Category the New Product button will disappear ...

When a Category holds a Product the New Category button will disappear ...

It sounds like you have added Product(s) to the top level Category so you are unable to create a Category ...

Delete the Product(s) and you can build your Categories and Products correctly ...

NOTE: If you already have both mixed together ... move the Products to a Category ...

disregard that last post...
I added to the db tables zc_categories & zc_categories_description the categories that I wanted to add (6 of them) and once I moved the products to these new categories the 'new category' button showed up just like Ajeh said :)
