How to set-up a category?

disregard that last post...
I added to the db tables zc_categories & zc_categories_description the categories that I wanted to add (6 of them) and once I moved the products to these new categories the 'new category' button showed up just like Ajeh said :)

Well that didn't work for me.

We have 10 categories.. CD Singles, CD Albums etc. etc.. all well and good.. now we have not yet managed to get any products in.

We get "NOTE: Category has SubCategories Products cannot be added ".

so can somebody supply a URL to an idiots giode to installing categoies and items

We have 20k vinyl records, and cds.. so need to be able to add all artists, Labels, etc from .TXT files also..

any help would be welcomed.

If you are all the way into a Category and see no SubCategories ... you will see the New Product button ...

Next to it is a Dropdown for what Product type you are trying to add ...

with all yours + 10 new cats.. we get no different details on any cat...

Now i click on eg 1 Hardware.. it does nothing, don't show any sub underneath it or nowt..
