Product Sort Order By price in Category

Hi,

How do you change the product sort order by price (lowest to highest) per category?

Go to the Product Listing ... as in click on a Category of products ...

Click on the titles until the sort order is what you want it to be ...

Now look in the URL and you will see:
sort=XXx

That is the setting you want for your Products Listing ...

Note: if your products do not sort properly by price, then you are missing the master_categories_id and the products_price_sorter from your products table do to importing files etc.

This would need to be fixed first ...

If you do not use Linked Products, the Tools ... Store Manager ... has an option for Resetting the Master Categories ID and Resetting the Products Price Sorter ...

They should be run in that order ...

If you do use Linked Products, be aware that this will select the First categories_id found for the Product in the products_to_categories table to set as the master_categories_id ...

I did all that you noted above, but my products still aren't ordering by price:

It does not look like you are displaying the Price so that it can sort by it ...

i just coded out the price, but doesn't mean it isn't in database, thought it would have still worked?

The way the Product Listing works is you have to see what you are sorting by ... the columns control the value for the sort order ... no column no sort order ...
