    Default Menus and duff html

I am on a mission to try and clean up the admin area's bad html and make it look a whole lot better at the same time.

I am looking for the pages that actually have the menu html and that which generates the image end tags. I have rummaged around but haven't found them yet. Anyone have a clue where to go look?

    cheers

As we will be redoing the Admin ... I am not sure that it is worth the effort ...

    Funny that

Leave computer for hours and then on return find some of what you are after.

Sorted the menu problem in general.php line 2784 change </UL> to </ul>

html_output.php change image end tags to /> (that is if we are going to have XHTML 1.0 pages. Doesn't seem to be much consensus here.

Now to find out why all the links that are generated do not have proper code.

    Sheesh

The link code problem you are talking about might be related to &'s and &amp;'s ? In that case I am not sure if we can call it improper code or a validator problem, but solving it has advantages either way of course (because when it's solved it will make the other code easier to validate).

And Ajeh is right of course. What are you going to do when the admin is being updated by the Zen team? Stick to your own version? Throw all your hard work away? Or do it over again? Maybe it's a bit to early for this?

On the other hand a list of current errors/problems *might* be helpfull of course :-)

There is more than just the above. Some pretty sloppy coding.

The plan is to use my own version in separate folder until some better templates come along. It is not too early and long overdue.

I can do that as part of but may be like War and Peace in size.

Remember all that ugly iccky nasty code way back in v1.0.x, 1.1.x and 1.2.x ... and notice how much nice things are now?

Imagin the changes due for the Admin to get it cleaner ...

Granted the functionality will always rule in the Admin ... but so much to do ... and so little time ...
