    TO RESTORE THE DATABASE:
    - open phpMyAdmin
    - select the database you wish to restore INTO, from the dropdown menu
    - click on the IMPORT tab
    - click on the Browse button, and select the file you downloaded when making the backup
    - click Go

the good news is that with some minor adjustments and adding the side boxes again, everything appears to be working :)

the bad news is that over 2/3rds of my images have disappeared. I looked in the images folders and most are gone gone gone. That will teach me to do a backup of my images on a cd from now on!

thanks again for the help !!

i'm attempting to transfer my database from one site to another, and the previous site is 1.3.5, new site is 1.3.6

i followed the phpmyadmin instructions here and after hitting GO when importing this is what i get:

    Error

    SQL query:

    -- phpMyAdmin SQL Dump
    -- version 2.9.0.2
    -- http://www.phpmyadmin.net
    --
    -- Host: localhost
    -- Generation Time: Dec 23, 2006 at 08:02 PM
    -- Server version: 4.1.21
    -- PHP Version: 4.4.2
    --
    -- Database: `yaby_zc1`
    --
    CREATE DATABASE `yaby_zc1` DEFAULT CHARACTER SET latin1 COLLATE latin1_swedish_ci;

    MySQL said: Documentation
#1044 - Access denied for user 'yabycosm'@'localhost' to database 'yaby_zc1'

    any idea what happened?
