text invisible/disappears, also hover strange

When using IE version 6 some information not visible. My wife has IE 7 installed on her computer and I get similar issues. She and I use firefox with no problems (of course) but have to resort to checking IE because more than 50% of my visitors use it. On to the IE quirks.

IE quirk #1) If you click on a category or subcategory (and don't move the mouse) the Categories Heading and Category Decription does not show up. The minute you move the mouse they appear. It doesn't matter if you use the text linked categories on the left column or navigate using the image links in center column.

IE quirk #2) Similar problem when you go to the product info (detail) page and it has attribute images. Such as: http://www.corriecroft.com/gallery/i...roducts_id=111

2a) Product name and price don't show until you move the mouse.

2b) Product description (css .biggertext and h3 #attribsOptionsText) doesn't show at all unless you swipe the page to highlight it. I thought it was a text color problem so I specified color in css as #000000, still no luck. This only seems to happen on products with attribute images whch happens to be all of the clothing.

I can live with problem #1 but can't live with problem 2b. I think it may be linked to some hover function. The only mods I have install are:
- Add-On: BACKUP_MYSQL Admin Tool v1.2.0.10a
- Column Layout / Grid Layout for Products Listing (Add On Module for Zen Cart v1.3.6)
- Image Handler 2.0 for Zen-Cart v1.3.x

Yes, I have searched for disappearing text and invisible text before posting and only found one relavent post that suggested that the font color was incorrectly specified in the css as it matched the background color. I made sure this was not the case.

I just finished a search for
IE peek-a-boo bug
and no results found
Could someone enlighten me as to what the IE peek-a-boo bug is, or possibly let me know a good way to find it in the forums?

Guess it's the disappearing zen-a-boo bug :)

I did a google search and found a bunch. Sounds like a coding error in floats. I did move a couple of things on the detail page. I will recheck

The hover thing is a different story as I didn't touch those pages as far as changing location of php code. Just css colors and admin switches.

Just did an advanced search in a different advance search box (the drop down one) and got some results. Go figure, 2 advance search options 1 is good the other sucks :)

Well, I did a combination of what Kuroi explains in this thread:

and
sixshootermedia.com/blog/ie-peekaboo-bug-fix:
height:1%

and through a bit of trial and error got 99% of it to work correctly in IE6
The 1% is a white bar left at the bottom of the footer which I can live with for now.

Seems like a general overall fix that needs to be applied to the css. Maybe add to the FAQ's or a sticky in "First Steps & General Customization Issues"
