Lavender Template Support Thread

I have created a new set of Lavender buttons closely modelled upon the old, but using the Arial font as the original font seems unknown.

However the total .zip file is bigger than permitted to upload here.

With just the buttons the .zip is 94kb, but with an .rtf (2kb) and an editable Adobe Illustrator .ai file (255kb), the .zip increases to 348Kb.

I would like to share but what is one to do?

I have been trying to figure this out. I'm new to this so I don't really know how this works. But how can I change the home link? And how can I add links to that?

You can (how I have come to loathe those two aforesaid words) add a link using the standard html <a href> command, together with php code.

For a start (subject to your template overrides), look at the files in includes/template/common/ such as tpl_main_page.php, tpl_header.php and tpl_footer.php files.

Also check the defines in includes/langages/english/english.php. I linked the catalog main heading to the index page for my shop.

Generally, use the Admin > Tools > Developers Tool to help you find which files, code or define to change, and also to hunt the different php codes that might be used.

Another excellent but seldom mentioned tool is the Reference Addon Module, which will help you quickly find settings in Admin.

Also use your browser's View Source Code (eg in Firefox, View > Page Source) to check page structures.

And I still can't figure out how to add change/add a link.

There are several places possible for a home page link, including at the very top of a page next to the login, in your breadcrumb, in your tabs menu, in your catalogue or other sidebox.

To find where something is, I usually follow the css trail, firstly by using View Source, then copying the relevant css tag to Developer Tool Kit to hunt the file that requires editing.

While this process may be a bit circuitous, it will open your eyes to the many ways and means of Zen Cart.

Ooops, forgot to ask one more thing. Where it says "Copyright © 2003-2006 Zen Cart" Can I remove that too, or do I have to leave it as it is? (Or change it to my own?)
