Lavender Template Support Thread

I am battling to get new pages in the define pages editor of my admin though so.....found this that you gave someone else
am going to try it first to create new page and I think it will be easier then to reference to that page

Create/clone these as page_5
/includes/modules/pages/page_2/header_php.php
/includes/languages/english/page_2.php
/includes/templates/template_default/templates/tpl_page_2_default.php

Add/edit these to include page_5
/includes/modules/sideboxes/more_information.php
/includes/languages/english.php
/includes/filenames.php

Create define_page_5.php in both of these folders
/includes/languages/html_includes
/includes/languages/html_includes/your_template

This should net you a generic page_5 in the "More Information" sidebox

You can then begin using this in your overrides areas

Is there something else I have to do to see the new pages that I created.... in config>>define pages I only see up to page_4

I have gone through the list and do not understand what I am missing...

If I compare the seminars page (http://www.evergreenparenting.co.za/...in_page=page_2)
with for instance the tip of the week page
(http://www.evergreenparenting.co.za/...=index&cPath=2)

one have a white strip on top and scrolls horizontally and the other is perfect with no space and no scroll

any idea what I did to mess it up? or where I can start to look for a solution!

I just downloaded the lavender template. I followed the instructions provided and I have activated it in the Tools---template selection. When I refresh the home page, i get a blank page. Is it pointing to the wrong place?? When I switch it back to the classic green template all is good and the site works fine again. I am just trying to get the purple look going on. The site name is http://www.tzines.com.

Check the uploaded template files on your server for any that might be "0" bytes in size...
There is nothing in this template itself that is a cause of a blank page...

What is your FTP client?

Thanks for the response kobra. I have looked at all the files listed on my server and all the files are present and none have a value of 0. For FTP, I use Filezilla and never had a problem. I have even reloaded it 3 times to see if something was missed.

On the same note, I loaded the purpleshades template and basically followed the same instructions while loading and everything works fine on that one (ie - no blank page). I am perplexed at why this is only happening with the lavender template.

Any other suggestions would be helpful.

Without viewing your files & install structure I have no other ideas as this is designed to be installed and is compatible with 1.3.8a as can be seen HERE for an example.

I had the same problem at the beginning... when you make amendments to the english.php file it should be saved in your CUSTOM (or in this case LAVENDER) file... includes/language/LAVENDER/english.php.... this is as I understood the overide system
In my case I always got a blank page then... I edited the english.php file and will just have to make a note for updates that I must not replace without comparing...

I do not know if it makes sense or even if it will help...
It is a great template to use! so I hope you get it working
