help question Questionaire as a product...

    Hallo, Zenners.

I've looked around, and cannot find a discussion on this or similar.
I need to have a product that requires answers to a list of questions (checkbox type)... not all questions need to be answered yes, it would be a "check if applicable" list. (for customized product).
Is there a way to do this simply within ZenCart?

There are 114 possible checkboxes, so I'd rather not make 144 yes/no attribute questions

Thanks for your help in advance!

In theory you could make an
    Option Name: Questionaire
    Option Type: Checkbox

    Option Values:
    Option Values question 1-114
    Sort Order

Now you have a product with the 114 Option Values in the form of a checkbox list where the answers will come up in order based on Sort Order ...

Note: If you have trouble sorting, use the Option Values Sorter ... this allows you to pick an Option Name and see all Option Values and edit them all at one time to set the default sort order ...

Now when you add the Option Values to the Product you can just hit Update Sort Order ...

Another handy toy is on the Option Names ...
Add ALL Option Values to ONE products for Option Name
You can pick the Option Name for Questionaire and tell it to copy all Option Values to it for you rather than add them one by one ...

Again, you can then use the Update Sort Order to arrange them nice and neat ...

Note: if you are not on a server that is properly optimized for MySQL and php 114 attributes will be slow ...

If you have to think ... you haven't been zenned ...

    Ok, soooo
I create the product with the option of questionaire /type checkbox.
I'd still have to type them all in individually, or is there a way to import from a text file?

or I'm assuming cut-n-paste would work....

if you were very very careful ...

And added say 1 or 2 of them to see how the products_options_values is setup for linking to the products_options table ... you could set them up and import ...

Be sure to backup before attempting this ...

Once imported then you can use the Options Values Sorter to arrange them if you did not set that before the import or need to change things ...

Then use that Add all Option Values to the product ...

Then just use the Update Sort order and presto chango ... you are done ...

You said you needed a PRODUCT as a questionnaire? That seems strange. How do you sell a questionnaire?
If you need to have a questionnaire for your customers the simple thing to do would be to either create it as an HTML form on an EZpage or even simpler, create it as a PDF document and link it from an EZpage. That way it could be filled out on line and emailed back to you (if you have Acrobat Pro to create it).

Actually, the questionnaire is not the product, but it *determines* the product ... custom fragrances and flower remedies both require a short "interview" process. Hence, the questions ....
