    database error Gift Cert redemption error

    Users are getting a confusing error when trying to redeem gift certificates. When a user is on step 2 of 3 in the payment process and enters a redemption code for the GC and hits "continue", two messages come up.

    "Congratulations, you have redeemed $1.00"

    &

    "The credit card number starting with was not entered correctly, or we do not accept that kind of card. Please try again or use another credit card."

    The second is very confusing to the customer because we have only 4 GC available that are the same price as our 4 products. They get confused that they need to enter credit card information when all that is happening is the system is adding the ammount to their account. It adds the amount correctly, but how do I keep the error from coming up?

    There error comes up as they have not yet claimed how much of the GV that they want to use ...

    They have a choice of a payment method or using the GV or a combination ...

    You could change the text for the error message as you will want that error message when a GV is not used ...

    The issue is we are directly giving out most of the GV codes. So when many of the customers are using the code, they are coming directly into the store, buy the product, create an account, then enter the code. So when they come in that way, they have to enter the code in the redemption field (no amount box is present) then hit "continue" at the bottom in order for the GV amount to be applied to the account for the amount box to even show up. So when they hit the continue button to apply the amount to the account, it's not reading the amount to apply because there is no amount box which is probably causing the error. I can post the link to the store if you would like to look at it.

    However, for the short term, I will probably change the error code.
