Removing "New Products for" box?

I currently have a box on my home page with a heading "New Products for December" and I would like not to have it!

In Layout boxes controller I've turned off what's_new but still get the central New Products for .... box. Problem is that these are not new products at all ... how are they selected for inclusion - what I change them? do I need to have it (some sort of strategy that says I should refresh home page content perhaps) and how can I remove it?

The setting is under ADMIN > CONFIGURATION > INDEX LISTING

Ah ha there it is - Admin-Config-index listings..... thanks for that, nearly sorted.

Now I have a very short main page and would like to add the text back in UNDER the featured product listing - is this a matter of changing the order they are called in a program somewhere??
