REMOVING FORM FIELD: DOB & Currancies updated- Aust

I think this is the section i need to alter:

Can someone tell me what to change to illiminate this field and from there I will know how to get rid of some others.

I found this coding in:includes/form_check.js.php


2/ Also can anyone tell me where to get updated currancy values when default id Australia?

3/ And how do i change the ea to Mtrs in my store?

DOB can be set to either:

1 required

2 optional

3 not asked


The Currency can be updated on the Localization ... Currency ... by having 1 of the currencies set to the default and marked as a value of 1 ...

Then hit the Update and it will connect to an exchange rate and update the other values ...


The ea is a DEFINE statement in your language files ...

Go to the Tools ... Developer's Tool Kit and do a search on:
'ea

in the Catalog using the bottom input box ...

Also if i change to mtrs will this affect all the items in the cart because some are each not per metre?

Start with:
Configuration ... Customer Details ...

Date of Birth
Display date of birth field during account creation and with account information
NOTE: Set Minimum Value Date of Birth to blank for not required
Set Minimum Value Date of Birth > 0 to require

If not required, be sure to edit the language file to remove the * indicating that it is a required field ...

According to my Developers tool Kit this is the location:

/admin/includes/languages/english/products_price_manager.php
Line #116 : define('TEXT_EACH','ea.');

I have added directly under it:
define('TEXT_METRE','Per Mtr.');
[FONT=&quot][/FONT]
Is this right? or do I change like so:
Line #116 : define('TEXT_EACH','per mtr');

Is there any further step after that? Any other files that will read off this and so need altering?
How do i asign it to a catogory as there is no options in the drop down menu in Catogory>Product Price manager (only a catogory I set up for now)

Actually it is the other file you want to change for the Catalog:

/includes/languages/english.php

Line #110 : define('BOX_SHOPPING_CART_DIVIDER', 'ea.-&nbsp;');

Copy that file to, if you have not already:
/includes/languages/your_template_dir/english.php

And then edit this define to read what you want it to display ...

Using the templates and overrides allow you to upgrade without your customizations being overwritten so that you can update the files as needed carefully ...

I also added this line:
define('TEXT_PRODUCTS_DISCOUNT_PRICE_METRE','Calculate Price:');

Right after:
define('TEXT_PRODUCTS_DISCOUNT_PRICE_EACH','Calculate Price:');

As I thought it may be needed?

Adding your defines are fine ... but if you did not code something to use them, they are pretty meaningless ...

The define statements are used in the code to represent text that you want displayed, but if they are not utilized anywhere in the code then they are not used ...

php is not self learning ... it only know what you tell it and what you tell it to do in the code ...
