Adding Subitle field to Product Listing

All of my questions so far have been answered by the forum (so thank you), but this question seems unique.

I would like to add a subtitle field to the product listing such as the following:

Product Title
Product Subtitle <-- Add this line
(click for more information)

The subtitle should display on the product information page as well (though this step is not absolutely necessary)

I assume that I will have to add a new product type to accomplish what I want. Right now I am using "product - general"

The only way I'm currently aware of accomplishing what I want is to install the "book" Product Type. Before I dive into the SQL changes, I'd like to explore other options. I am making a website for Jewelry, so none of the other changes of the book product type will help me.

you can do it


add one new type on the product adding page (insert page)

product subtitle: insert inthe databse


now on the same quesry you can get value inthe module files

here you find small desc. of product on the listing page

now this is not provided by zencart as they allow only desc. for products

so what i do it create new field in the databse

and then change the code in the admin side so that duringinsering of proudct
i can add short des. of that product too.


and in user side i run sql query to got those small desc. and print on the product listing page.

Yeah, I get what you mean. Though, I don't feel confident enough in my coding abilities to try this yet. I was hoping that someone had already done this.

Using the defaule products general and then adding ther tabbedlite module from the down loads section, you can have as many informational tabs as practical
