Problem for New Users creating account

I am having a problem with some users being unable to create an account.
When they fill out the form to create a new account it just keeps returning to log in page saying
"NOTE: If you already have an account with us, please login at the login page"

I tried on another computer, managed to create a new account but then (after logging out) could not create any more accounts from that computer.
I tried on another computer, which had never accessed the site before (but was going through the same wireless router) and could not create a new account.

These are my session settings which I have tried changing without success :-
Session Directory /home/wobblegc/public_html/shop/cache

Force Cookie Use False
Check SSL Session ID False
Check User Agent False
Check IP Address False
Prevent Spider Sessions True
Recreate Session True
IP to Host Conversion Status true

My other site (www.greengingercards.com) has no problem creating new accounts on the same computers I am having problems with

No answers from the forum but I have found out what the problem was from the company who sold me the domain so thought I would publish it on here incase anyone else was having the same problem.

It was to do with 'SEO URLs' - they do not work with shared SSLs - turned off the SEO URLs and the site is now working perfectly.
