Inserting text message in checkout process

Hi,
How do we insert text messages in the checkout process? In particular, I would like to insert text messages in the login new customer information page between 'Additional Contact Details', 'Login Details', and 'Newsletter and Email Details'. How do we do the same for the select shipping method page? I would like to put some messsages between each shipping method. Thanks.

For the login this will be a bit difficult as this is a form and you probably need to change the form.
