Shipping tax not being calculated

Hi,
I am new to Zen Cart and I think it is a great product. However, I am stuck and cannot figure out why. I have my tax worked out perfectly with one exception. There is no tax being added to the shipping if a person ships to the UK. The tax is being calculated fine for everything else. I am using the table shipping rate. The tax rate is 17.5% (VAT)

Here are the details
admin/config/my store
display prices with tax - False
display prices with tax in admin - false
basis of product tax - shipping
basis of shipping tax - shipping

admin/modules/shipping/table rates
tax class - taxable goods
tax basis - shipping
shipping zone - United Kingdom

as a quick comparison check, do you end up with the same problem if you use a different shipping module ?

Yes, I tried it with the zones shipping module aswell and the same thing is happening the tax is adding on everything except the shipping

Do you think it may be because of some of the downloads that I have installed. Maybe if I knew which parts of the scripting is related to the shipping and tax and I could replace them with the original installation scripts.

Or if anyone has any ideas please? I am completely stuck

I installed a new zen cart on a different area of my website and quickly changed all the basic settings of tax and shipping so that it is the same as my other zen cart site. Everything works perfectly and the tax works on the shipping. This leads me to believe that I may have tweaked the script somewhere or somehow and spoiled it for myself on my proper zencart site.

Would I be able to trace the problem or do I have to start over from scratch?

I have found the page causing the problem, it was as follows:

catalog/includes/modules/order_total/ot_shipping.php

I managed to find it using windiff and replaced it with the original ot_shipping.php that came with the Zencart install

The problem was caused by the vatmod_for_european_companies_1.2.2 module. There must be an error somewhere in the script changes.

I will need to try and find the error though if I want to continue using the module
