    Default Help with install please

I know I am probably just doing something stupid but here is the problem I am having, I get to the zencart install page http://grillzngrillz.com/zencart/zen...set/zc_install

I keep getting this message while trying to install
    admin/includes/configure.php does not exist
The file is there, I have renamed the distcongigure file, to the configure.php, it shows with all my other files, I have even re-upoaded it, what am I doing wrong? and yes the preferences have been changed to 777 as per instructions
    Please help

OK, the htaccess file was missing, I uploaded it, but it didn't help, then I renamed it to htaccess_OFF but I still get the same error message, do I need to have the permissions on that file set to other then 644? What else can I try, thanks for any help with this.

    Did you do both:
    /includes/configure.php
    /admin/includes/configure.php

no, you don't need .htaccess at all. I mentioned that in case you may have had one in the first place.
.htaccess can block access to files. It happened in the case of my css files.
I've installed zen cart (a couple of times in fact :-) ) during the last couple of days and I can highly recommended it.
If money come this way as a result (when the client pays) the fair share will go towards the "coffee fund" for sure... ;-)

I would try from scratch if I was you. If you are just starting (which it seems to me you are) I would advise to go for one of the hosting companies that do specific zen-cart hosting. It may save you hours of messing about.
I couldn't because the client was already with a hosting company, but ...oh well, so far so good... ;- )

Hello, and thank you for the advice, unfortunatly I can't go with another hosting company because this too is a client job. I wanted to ask, how many files do you all upload when uploading the zencart to a server?

    Every Last One!
Make sure you are loading them to your root and and use that to run the install.

Your original URL you posted looks like you may have loaded the files several layers deep in the root. That's not necessarily wrong, but you must match the directory structure in the configure files.

What are you using to FTP the program to the server? Not all clients are created alike ... get a good one that can handle multiple file directory uploads. FileZilla is free and the one I use all the time. With more that 1500 files it is essential.
