If you create a product with Product URL link, my understanding is that the default is to open the link in a new window.
I know that I can make the link replace the starting page, but I'd like to have the result include all of the header/bread-crumbs/sideboxes, etc. that surrounded the product before the visitor clicked the link.
I'm guessing that 3 or 4 includes at the top of my script and some session parsing stuff would do the trick, but I haven't found what appears to be a "recipe" for what to call/include and what session variables to check.
Given enough time, I guess I could eventually figure it out, but that's no sure way to recreate what is probably documented somewhere and that's a preferable path if someone would kindly share the location of such knowledge!!
What I'm fooling with is a new pseudo-product type that I'm calling professional services. The idea would be that a photographer might want/need some structured input from a potential client, so we'd build a unique script, store the input in a new table, mail it to all concerned and press on with life's other matters.
Another service provider might need different initialization input from the prospect, so we'd make a unique script for that purpose.
I'd just like to use the basic URL link so that a clone of Document - General works nicely for the main category/product listing needs, thus only customizing the spokes of the wheel instead of reinventing roundness.
Comments/ideas, public or private will be gratefully received and acknowledge.
