    Default paypal refund

I am testing the Paypal Express Module with the Paypal sandbox account.

When testing the refund from the store admin I checked the Confirm box and clicked full refund. I got an error:

There was a problem refunding the transaction amount specified. ()

Since this is a full refund I should not have to enter the amount in the partial refund box?

    Thanks,
    Mike

As additional information I entered the full amount in the Box next to the partial refund information, checked the confirm box and clicked the full refund button and the transaction went through.

If this is the way it should work then the wording is confusing.

The full refund should only need the confirmation box checked ...

The partial you need to fill in how much ...

The two use separate buttons ...

Once a full refund is done, neither the full nor the partial will work ...

Once a partial refund is done ... the full refund will not work and only another partial refund (as many as you want up to the total amount) will work ...

If you could test that once more just to ensure that you had the checkbox marked for confirm and hit the Full Refund we'd appreciate it ...

NOTE: when doing either a Full Refund or a Partial Refund ... you will see a message that the Refund has been Initiated ...

Until you refresh the page, you will not see the final results in the comments ...

Well it worked when I tried again. Last time I did not check the box the error message told me that I did not check it.

Well I guess it was user error.

    Thanks and Happy New Year.

I also experiance this same error message.
There was a problem refunding the transaction amount specified. ()
I'm clicking the confirm checkbox and then clicking on the Do Full Refund button. After doing this about 10 times the refund finaly goes through. Having seen this, and duplicated it several times, I dont think it is a user error.

If you can duplicate this, please turn on Debug Emails and post the debug data for the attempted DoRefund transaction.

    Attached log files.
I do not know how much info in the log files is personal so I set a password to be safe.
The password has been send to you via pm.

This is a generic error message, which is triggered if there is no "Success" response received when the DoRefund call is made. The empty brackets () suggest that there was no response received at all, which is odd.

The logs Dennis posted don't contain any evidence of a DoRefund request being sent to PayPal. You might check to see if there are any logs in the /cache folder instead ? Sometimes the admin dumps its PP logs there.

Your request for data is attached. Same password as used a few days ago.

ps. my customers have really responded to PayPal Express by using it 9 out of 10 orders. PayPal IPN was 1 out of 20. This means less work for me transferring info to the virtual terminal! Im still a small store but this makes expanding much easer.

    THANKS
