    Default ASP code in ZenCart?

I really need info whether we can run ASP code/script inside ZenCart.

I have a client who want to run his asp script inside ZenCart, we want it to run inside ZenCart, my idea will be creating a page using EZ-Page, then it will be displayed inside ZenCart as a new page.

By the way I'm not familiar with asp, and I think he is not familiar with PHP or ZenCart, so I'm stuck.

I face two choices now, one is to make a page inside ZenCart if it is possible, and second make a new independent page which not related to ZenCart, where asp code can run there, but I dont prefer the second one, since we have to make new page and clone the Zencart header and footer by HTML.

I really appreciate all help and suggestion. We really need this thing to be fixed soon.

    Thanks all!

What "Special Functionality" is contained in this ASP page that could not be either written in html or php?

    Hi Kobra,

I'm not really sure what the client want to insert there because I didn't yet get the code, but I guess something about dropdown, choices and formula, I believe it can be done in PHP of course .

Anyhow perhaps he prefer ASP since he doesn't want to write again in PHP (I also not familiar with ASP so I dont know how to convert to PHP), furthermore the ASP code is ready so he seek easy way to insert into the HTML page, which I think should be EZ-Page right?

Please correct if I'm wrong, I welcome any suggestion

Update: By the way I just talked to client he still want to use the asp code, is that possible to integrate ASP in ZenCart anyway?

    Thanks...

Will this be installed on a Win Host server?

Linux does not natively excecute ASP.

Yes... currently we run store on Win NT server.

Its a testing server actually, but if that the case where Win Host needed we can use Win server for final store.

If you need the asp script to runat="server" the file extension must be asp, not php.

In that case, we have to make a separate asp page then, then now I have to figure out how to keep ZenCart header and footer intact, so perhaps integrate them into asp instead....

Well... thank for the info though, if you know how to keep header and footer intact in asp page please kindly inform here ... thank for all helps!

Zen Cart header & footer are in php.....

Just think that it would be much simpler to convert what ever the ASP is doing over this approach.

Clirnts are clients, but they sould be reminded that it is the functionality that they should be concerned with and not the road to get it.
