    Default Coupon not showing correct value

    Hi team,

    I have just finished an upgrade to my zencart from 1.3.5 to 1.3.7.
    When I looked at my coupon values, I noticed that the value is expressed perhaps in US dollars, while my shop is displayed in AUS dollars. Here is an example for a what is supposed to be a AUS $5.00 coupon. My default curency is set to AUS:

    Coupon Name :: Welcome to Ineke's Fashions
    Coupon Amount :: $6.55
    Start Date :: 07/01/2006
    End Date :: 17/03/2006
    Uses per Coupon :: Unlimited
    Uses per Customer :: 1
    Valid Product List :: NONE
    Valid Categories List :: NONE
    Date Created :: 10/01/2007
    Date Modified :: 10/01/2007

    Coupon Zone Restriction: :: 0
    Thanks,

    Goshawk

    Well this is interesting too, I just went back to look at my default currencies, and though AUS was selected as default, the US dollar was still displaying a $1.00 value, and the AUS $ had a higher value.

    I reset the AUS to the default value, and now after updating my currencies, I cannot update them anymore. Now they all display $0.00, although I received a succesfull update from xe.com?????

    So the above seems to be related to a currency problem, and not to the Coupon.

    Make sure that you then set AUD to have a 1.00 value

    Then check the new feature in the Configuration ... My Store ...
    Currency Conversion Ratio
    When auto-updating currencies, what "uplift" ratio should be used to calculate the exchange rate used by your store?
    ie: the bank rate is obtained from the currency-exchange servers; how much extra do you want to charge in order to make up the difference between the bank rate and the consumer rate?

    Default: 1.05
    This will cause the published bank rate to be multiplied by 1.05 to set the currency rates in your store.

    I deleted all but the default currencie, and did an update, after which the AUS returned a value of $0.00.
    I reinstalled the USD, and did another update, after which both returned a $0.00 value.
    I have now only installed the AUS, but would need to have a fix soon, so I can reinstal the other currencies.

    Thanks for your quick reply AJEY, I did set the value of the AUD to 1.00 before I updated again, but after the update both returned a 0.00 value.

    I am puzzled.

    Just tried it again to be sure, and here is a fault that was returned by zencart:

    Error cURL communication ERROR: Received error code 403 from proxy
    Warning Warning: The primary exchange rate server (oanda) failed for Australian Dollar (AUD) - trying the secondary exchange rate server.
    Error cURL communication ERROR: Received error code 403 from proxy
    Success The exchange rate for Australian Dollar (AUD) was updated successfully via xe.
    My proxy is set as per recommendations for GoDaddy, and my currency is padded by 5% (set to 1.05)

    Error 403 means "forbidden" ... as in .. you're being denied access to the attempted address.
    It's possible that the exchange-rate servers are rejecting multiple repeated queries from the single proxy godaddy server.
    It's possible that the so-called "success" message is displayed simply because there wasn't an HTML error, and isn't based on finding an actual currency value.

    Workaround: set the exchange rate to 1.00000 manually for your default currency.
    Then manually set the other rates as needed.
    You can use your browser and go to xe.com or oanda.com as a reference point for the other rates if you like.

    Never in the past have I received this error, and my settings have not changed.
    I am still able to make the same call without any problems from my old store.
