    Default Which Payment Gateway?

Alright, I've been reading everything I can find, calling companies and going around in circles so I need a recommendation.

I need a gateway to do three things:
    1. Be able to charge an authorization multiple times
    2. Be compatible with vital (visanet)/bank of america
    3. Be easy to use for a VERY non tech person

I browsed through Authorize.net, CyberSource, GoEmerchant and Cardservice International and I could not figure these out. I also called authorize.net and cybersource and they apparently don't care about customers (as in authorize said it was possible but wouldn't say how to do the multiple capture per authorization and cybersource never called me back).

Any experience from the zen-cart knowledge base of awesomeness (you) that can help me?

    Thanks,
    Dave P.

First thing you should try is talking with your own bank. Most banks will get you set up with a payment processor. See what they offer and then search here on the forum and in the downloads/payment modules to see if one already is created for Zen Cart. Authorize.net and Paypal are included by default with Zen Cart. If you can't find a match, you may have to create your own payment module or pick one that already exists.

ZC is not setup for recurring payments. However, many of the payment processors have a method for you to set this up via their admin tools. In most cases their admin is pretty straight forward (non-technical/web based). Most (if not all) banks work together electronically.

Read the FAQ's and search the forums. There's a lot of information available here.

Your 3 criteria could certainly point to the Bank of America / CyberSource / Vital trio.
CyberSource Tech Suport Team is very weak and the phone service is useless, but their published documentation is excellent.
CyberSource uses the term: “subscription”. Authorizenet uses the term: “recurring”.

With CyberSource you can create a subscription in 2 ways:
    1. using a credit card or bank account info;
    2. converting an authorization generated with the help of Zen Cart.
This capability is available from CyberSource Business Center once you have an open account.

After the authorization is converted into a subscription by CyberSource Business Center, Zen Cart will not be made aware of the next or any of the following transactions. My understanding is the same as lib99 (previous post).

Please refer to User’s Guide, Chapter 2:
    http://apps.cybersource.com/library/...ments_UG/html/

Please send a Private Message (PM) should you need help setting up CyberSource with your ZC store host.
