Testimonial Manager Support Thread

Testimonial Manager 1.3.7 is available in the downloads section.

Testimonials. A sidebox shows portions of a random testimonial. When clicked on, the full testimonial is displayed.

This version of Testimonial Manager has been updated to remove the tables that were in the previous versions and takes advantage of the per-page stylesheet ability of Zen Cart version 1.3.7.

Re: Testimonial Manager Support Thread

love your work clyde.

i wonder if you can help me please?

our site is at www.totalerc.com

its a showcase with prices so doesnt require logins etc.

i have TM installed (the previous version), but it isnt working for some reason and i plan to install 1.3.7 over the top of it shortly.

What i'd like to know please, is how i can get rid of the need to log in to write a testimonial?

i'd like it to perhaps just make a required field- name and location.

I hope that you can help please...perhaps others who dont have a need to have user accounts also would need this?

Cheers,

tim

Re: Testimonial Manager Support Thread

1062 Duplicate entry '51' for key 1
in:
[INSERT INTO configuration_group ( configuration_group_id , configuration_group_title , configuration_group_description , sort_order , visible ) VALUES ('51', 'Testimonials Manager', 'Testimonials Manager Display Settings', '51' , '1');]
If you were entering information, press the BACK button in your browser and re-check the information you had entered to be sure you left no blank fields.

that means that that particular entry is already in the database table.

I don't remember if this is the last entry in the sql document or not. If it is then there is no need to worry about it.

if its not the last entry in the sql document then just delete that line and run the sql again.

I just posted a test (testimonial) which you can delete. It went through without problems.

Re: Testimonial Manager Support Thread

Which version of Testimonial Manager do you have installed?

I'm seeing several things on the version on your site that aren't part of version 1.3.7.

Re: Testimonial Manager Support Thread

MSN - [email protected].

Its past mid-night here so I'm off to zzzzzzzzzland.

I'd recommend downloading Testimonial Manager 1.3.7 from the downloads section and using that on your new site.

Do you already have testimonials for the new site?

Re: Testimonial Manager Support Thread

I have the same problem with ver. 1.3.7 and I'm also running Zen 1.3.7 - no box in layout controller to activate... can someone offer a suggestion?

The configuration and the Testimonials Manager editor all displays, but no box to activate thus nothing shows on the site. I have installed locally first for testing (I never load to a live site first). I've checked and all files have been loaded to the correct areas. No errors are thrown.. just no box.. and the tpl files are there.. quite a mystery.

Thanks

Re: Testimonial Manager Support Thread

As a side note to the above. You MUST have at least one testimonial in the database for the sidebox to show. In other words - No Testimonials, No Sidebox.

The code checks to make sure there are Testimonials in the database.

Re: Testimonial Manager Support Thread

Clyde, I have double checked everything (especially since I overlooked the modules file earlier) but when I view the test testimonial I don't get a button to add a testimonial. Instead there is a "Contact" link to the person's email that wrote the testimonial. I've reinstalled it twice now to make sure all is in the correct locations and all is perfect. Just can't add a testimonial.
I went into the config and change it to not having to be logged in and tried that... still no button. I know the buttons are there, as I built a new ones to match the site and loaded both the buttons. I don't have a broken image either.

Any clues?
