Yes, you might consider using js though as much of ZC uses already the js is in the js folder and the call goes where you want it to be available

You could embed <applet..> anywhere you wanted ... but a lot of customers would object. You might want to put it on a separate page with some explanatory text. And of course it woudln't work for people who don't have the JRE, so you might want to go all the way and use JWS. Your choice.
