Removing Links From Information Sidebox - A Basic Guide

I just spent the last 45mins searchin' the forum for all the spots in Admin I can disable links in the Info Sidebox. Here is a summary of my findings for those who'ld like to do it in 5 minutes! :

Gift Certificate: Config > Define Pages Status > Define Discount Coupon =3


Gift Certificate, Group Discount & Discount Coupon are disabled in: Admin/Modules/OrderTotal. (press “remove” and don’t worry if you need them later you can just press the “install” button that appears after removing!!)


Newsletter UnSubsribe Link: Admin > Email Options > Display "Newsletter Unsubscribe" Link?=False
Also because it is illegal in some countries (I read) to disable this link if infact you do have a newsletter, you can disable newsletters here:
Admin > configuration > customer details page > ' show newsletter checkbox ' = 0.

Thank you! You saved me 30 mins. I knew about the second part of the Newsletter Unsubscribe link but not the first part and the manual wasn't too clear on that.

You rock!!! we need more documents exactly like this in a specific section called "shortcuts" or something. I spent forever looking for the exact things that you had in your email, and then in 5 min after finding your post I was done. I turned off the information and was just wondering how can i get rid of the discount code box during checkout as i don't want to use it.

Would have never thought of looking in the order total.

Turn it off in your admin - Admin> Modules> Order Totals> Coupons
