    Default Debugging ZenCart

    Hi,

I'm currently in the process of customizing ZenCart and something that I find would be extremely useful is if i could properly debug the code using a debugger. I've been developing in Dreamweaver, but would like to switch to an IDE that actually supports PHP debugging. In particular I've been looking at using Eclipse with either PHPEclipse or PDT. I've searched far and wide and could not find either a decent comparison of the two or heard of anyone setting up either of these to work with ZenCart. Is there anyone, who is using Eclipse IDE with either PHPEclipse or PDT to debug ZenCart? If so, can you please share which one you're using and what you experiene with it has been. In particular i'm interested in how these environments handle the require statements and whether they're still able to properly debug with these and what's involved in setting up the IDE/debugger to work with ZenCart.

    Thank you,
    Nick

While any IDE requires its own unique configuration, I believe either eclipse or zend studio can be used for interactive code-execution and debug activities with Zen Cart.

Sorry, can't offer much for specific configuration details. Once it's working it's very handy.

I've been using NuSphere PhpEd5.. works flawlessly and the dbg setup wizard makes it incredibly easy. It offer full debug including all the values of locals and globals... I had been trying to figure out this one bug in my upcoming contrib for 4 days of just coding in a text editor.. Then when I reinstalled phped and got it setup with zc.. it took me a whole 5 min to identify and fix the problem.

Only took about 10 min to set it all up.
