Inserting Streaming Video into Product Pages

My client wants to start selling educational videos in their Zen Cart store. They got this great idea about capturing 1-2 minutes of each video and embedding the clips as streaming video onto the product pages. Is there a way of doing this?

My gut feeling is no, so if not I'll just set up a link to page featuring just the video.

Thank you for any help,
Chris

Try taking some you tube <embed> code and sticking it in the product descriptions area with the Htmlarea editor.

Should work I stuck .swf in there.

Funny you asked I just saw a thsirt store with youtube in there sideboxes 2 minutes ago.

There's really no limit to how you can customize this cart (although there are some really complex things I've been asked to consider that would take so long to implement it wouldn't make good business sense). I customized a cart a year or so back so the site owner could easily incorporate video clips into his products from the admin panel, without having to struggle with any html code.
I created a new product type with additional input fields on it for video info and upload file. From memory it took about 20 hours work to code, test and tweak.

You can see the result at the visual church

Re: Inserting Streaming Video into Product Pages

If you use your tube I think your stuck with it.

It's not hard to include video in a page. Eityher in quicktime, flash or even mpeg, WMV e.t.c

Just come up with the video. Doesn't take much bandwidth from your server unless your getting thousands of hits a day on it.

Re: Inserting Streaming Video into Product Pages

Ok... I have got the video files... I can have them in WMV or SMF formats.. can I have a graphic of the DVD and then below the graphic , have the sample clip ready for the customer to click the play button... I was looking at using flash as the skin.. but was not sure about adding a graphic AND the video... next qestion is how do you list the clip... must have to enter code or somethign manually I would guess... anyone know how >??
