    cart error Paypal IPN - not working

    Hi,

    I'm testing and modifying a zencart site and using the paypal developer sandbox.

    www.sandbox.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr

    I put through test transactions, and it seems to go through, except when I return to the zencart site it doesn't show the order with the parts I just baught.. it shows the last order I did through the cheque/money order module.

    I tried again after restoring original site code (without my mods) and the same thing is happening.

    My site is accessible from the internet on port 80. - I have a port forward setup and using dynamic dns update client with zenwebtest.hopto.org

    I turned on debug mode to local file in the payment module options and it isn't giving me any information.. the only thing in that log directory is index.html

    I have made a few minor database mods - added a field in the customers table and added 2 extra tables, and I dont think it's from that.

    One thing I noticed is that the paypal transactions - as i'm processing them they don't have the shipping amount and item details on the invoice. it all appears as a bulk item on the paypal invoice.

    has anyone got any idea why this is happening?

    is by design,

    try setting up the site without all the forwarding and see if it works just like its supposed to.

    and remember that paypals sandbox SUCKS

    Yeah, Though the main issue i'm concerned with here is that i'm putting an order through, and it apears in the paypal sandbox site in the account history but the order doesn't go through as far as zen cart is concerned..

    Even the stock quantity is the same as though the order never happened.

    the Cheque/Money order module is working in zencart.

    So do you think it's because the paypal sandbox SUCKS?

    I think is 2 fold,
    the IPN dosnt like being forwarded, and sandbox SUCKS

    I think i'll ditch paypal in that case and get a merchant account and do it all myself.

    If you wish to use the IPN module, you can find a myriad of troubleshooting aids documented here:

    You would be better advised to use the PayPal Express Checkout module, as it doesn't rely on the IPN system to release your orders in most cases. (echecks and otherwise pending transactions excepted). Even in the case of pending items, the orders are saved to your Zen Cart admin area as "pending payment" rather than hidden altogether until the IPN comes through.
