Default Importing Product Data from CSV?

    Greetings,

Brand new to Zen Cart. I have data on 80-100 products in Excel - which I can obviously export as a csv file.

I find no mention anywhere of the ability to import product data. Do I have to manually re-create all the data about all the products? That would be a bit time-consuming.

    Thanks,

    Hi,

There is a contribution called Easy Populate (Standard) found at http://www.modhole.com

    Thanks Wils,

Have it installed, will play around with it. Guess my first question should have been - is there a central location where all the mods and 3rd party plug-ins are listed?

does easy populate come standard in the new version of zen cart or do you have to purchase it regardless?

I had about 1,000 products to move in csv. I bought easy populate. I know it saved me a tremendous amount of time. One thing was sort orders are not in the store file - it's in the extended store file and that took me a bit of research to figure. If you want to sort things in categories, you want that field.

If easy populate can do it there must be way to do it in MySQL.

    bjraines,

You can look at NaviCat as a sql tool for this and at least evaluate for 30 before deciding as not free
