Sort order of main page content

On my main page I have the define_main_page.php set and I also display categories in the center section. The categories display below the define_main_page.php and I want to the categories to display first. I couldn't find an option in admin. If no option in admin which php file could I modify to do this.

k I found an answer that's not quite an answer.

First of all in another thread it was suggested to look at index.default. or index.categories. but did not say what to change. I tried everything I could think of but that doesn't seem to change the order.

What I finally ended up doing was, using html, put the images and links into a centered table before the text in the define pages area.

Hate to bump such an old post, but this is exactly the issue I am trying to resolve as well.. I'm on a hunt through the old threads, and have not found an answer yet.. Is there a way to do this??

Found the answer.. The file I edited was the includes/templates/template_default/templates/tpl_index_categories.php file.. (You need to modify and place this file in your includes/templates/MY TEMPLATE/templates folder) Now my main page define appears below the product categories on the main page..
