I find it incredible that CP would make a change like this without alerting their customers...

LOL, don't forget that CP is an ancient crown corporation with one of the most arrogant and aggressive unions in the country. Having worked in a local distribution centre at one time in the distant past (as a non-union contractor) it doesn't surprise me a bit ;)

I noticed this post today, and my cart's canada post shipping module settings still reflect the 216.191.36.73 IP, and it's still working here. Is this a "gradual" turnover that you know of?

yes, it is.

There was a period yesterday that your site wasn't working - whether you knew it or not - because the 216 ip was totally down. It appears to be back up now. Probably due to customer complaints. Still, its a good idea to make the switch.
