Page is blank please help

I was going through the upgrade on my site to the new zen cart release. I created a new folder in FTP called store and uploaded the fresh release files in there. So then I went into my backups and told it to dowload a backup of my sql database and saved it to my desktop. I ran the install through the browser. When it asked for the database information I gave it the same DB name and username and password as my ORIGINAL cart.

Once it was done I was able to view the new cart. When I went back to my original page though it is just loading a blank white page. If I try to go to the admin to log into my original zen cart admin site I get an error that says: 0 DB_ERROR_NOT_CONNECTED

I went back into my hosting panel and did a restore of my DB file using the one that I saved on my desktop. I still cannot connect to my original page or anything.

Someone please please help me!

You should have created a new DB for this install....

Since I didnt do a new database what can I do now??

If you still have the orig db backup restore this and the main cart should be ok.

Then create another DB for the /store install
