Currency value within e-mails

Hello

I have changed my default language and the currency sign to £, this shows ok on my site etc, but within the various e-mails sent out to customers it is wrong, it is showing £, does anyone know how to change this?

I would suspect that the emails you are receiving are text based and not html. Try to set the mail to html and your test account to receive html and see if this is different

Thanks for the quick reply, I changed the text to html, and sent a message, the message still has the  symbol in front of the £ sign. Do you know of anything else I can change?
