Special price shown in listing, but not added to cart

I have Zen Cart 1.3.7 with only add on of PayPal Viewer 2.

Having a problem with combination of running a special on the product and pricing by attribute, it seems.

Here's the setup

1) Product has a base price of $100. product is configure to be priced by attribute.
2) An attribute color has two values, Red and Blue. Red has value of $0, Blue: +$5. Attributes are required, and Blue is configured to be selected by default
3) I have configured a special for the product for $90.

In the listings, product shows up as $100 crossed out, and $90 in red. When I go to add it to the cart, if I select either Red or Blue, the price of the item added to the cart is based on the original (and not the special prices). So either $100 or $105 (instead of $90 and $95).

Make sure that the Product is not marked as Priced by Attribute ...

Only when the Product Price has to be built totally on the attributes is a product marked as Priced by Attribute ...

I am having the same problem, and i cannot seem to find a solution either. I have applied a 10% discount on to all my products, and it shows at the top of each product page in red. But the price of the attributes is not affected, and customers still have to pay the standard price. My products are all priced by attributes.
