    Hi,
I am a total beginner but I may be able to help. I just downloaded the german language add-on and have had some initial success. There are two main folders included in the download. They are named "admin" and "includes". I found that these two folder correspond with the admin and includes folders in the root directory of the store. I used Filezilla to upload the contents of the two folders into the root directory of my store.

I then went to my admin console of my store and under Localization>Languages I added a new language. I added as follows:

    Name: german
Code: de (this is probably fr for french I guess.)
    Image: icon.gif
    Directory: german
    Sort order: 1
I left set as defaut blank.

I think that was all I did. It seems to work so far. Sorry for the non-techincal explanation. I hope you can understand it.

thanks, i can't believe how easy that was. i was stuck on this for days.

I had been worried about overwriting the admin, etc, files if i just uploaded everything directly to the corresponding folders.

For future users: using filezilla, i just selected all the language pack folers and uploaded. Everything went into place into the corresponding folders on the server, and worked.

    thanks again
