Questions on Running a Sale

I was wondering if it was possible to run a specific kind of sale. I would like to make it so if the customer buys one thing they get 10% off, if they buy 2 items they get 20% off and if they buy 3 items they get 30% off. Can this be done? Also, can I apply the sale to specific items only? Thanks

Do the items have to be the same? Do you want to mix and match? Is that 10% of the item and then 20% off the total of the two items and then 30% off the total of the three? Need more details ...

Yes, I apologize, let me go in depth. It is a clothing store and we want to have an after winter sale. We want it so if someone orders one item, regardless of price and what it is they get 10% off of their total order. If they order 2 items, again regardless of price and what it is, they get 20% off of their total order, and then the same thing with 3 items. We want it to top off at 30%, so if someone orders 5 things they still just get 30% off total order. We want the sale to apply to the entire store except for a few choice items. If we can only apply it to the entire store that is fine. Thanks for the help.

The easiest way to do it would be with 3 coupon codes, 1 for each discount, but you would have to rely on the customer using the correct code. Otherwise you are looking at some custom coding.
